A detailed period study of the eclipsing binary system AW UMa was carried out using literature data on the binary's minima. Results revealed presence of a new period (P = 0.4387317 d) and period changes of the order of 10 to the -7th to 10 to the -6th. Three linear trends of period changes were apparent, two of which are definitive, and the third indicates a new period change. Results did not show more dispersion of the O-C values of secondary minima than of the primary ones.
