Scientific paper

The paper presents a study of two-year variations of mean monthly values of the magnetic field strength of the sun as a star, the solar wind velocity and the IMF strength, the cosmic-ray intensity in the stratosphere, and the neutron component for the 1965-1988 period. The two-year variation of the solar magnetic field, extended by the solar wind into interplanetary space, is shown to be the cause of the two-year cosmic-ray variation.
