The Cassini Mission to the Saturnian System and Titan will provide many far reaching results pertinent to the origin and evolution of Titan's atmosphere and the plasma interactions with the planetary magnetosphere and solar wind. Several critical issues related to the following are reviewed: the global magnetospheric signatures of Titan's ionosphere, the corresponding mass loading effect, the ionospheric magnetic field composition, and the formation of an atomic nitrogen torus in the Saturnian system. Observations required to resolve the major uncertainties are outlined.
