The origin of the triaxiality of the Comet P/Halley nucleus is discussed. Calculations are presented for testing a hypothesis that the triaxiality of the cometary nucleus of P/Halley is a result of tidal and rotational distortions. The results indicate that such possibility should be seriously considered. It is shown that the nucleus of Halley comet might be synchronously orbiting around a planetarylike hypothetical body with a period of 0.7 days.
