The outlying Reticulum system of the LMC is studied by means of B and V CCD photometry that are employed to prepare a color-magnitude diagram and light curves. CCDs are employed in conjunction with small telescopes, and attention is given to standardization to derive distances and abundances. A total of 10 variables are reported with a reddening of E(B - V) = 0.03 +/- 0.02 and Fe/H = -1.7 +/- 0.1. The variables have a mean magnitude of V(0) = 18.98 and a mean M(V) of 0.6 yielding a distance modulus of 18.38 mag; this modulus is compared to that corresponding to the Cepheid modulus for the LMC. The color-magnitude diagram for the Reticulum system is compared to that of the M3, and similarities are noted in the morphologies and in the photometric accuracy limits. The present photometric data are found to support direct spectroscopic measurements and the abundance derived from the red giant branch.
