New radiative lifetimes have been measured for 28 levels of Dy II by the method of laser-induced fluorescence from sputtered metal vapour. The new lifetime values have been combined with branching fractions determined from recent transition probability measurements in order to deduce oscillator strengths for a total of 63 lines of Dy II. Finally, on the basis of this new set of atomic data and new measurements of equivalent widths of a sample of 16 solar lines, a refined value is proposed for the solar photospheric content of dysprosium: ADy =1.20±0.06 in the usual logarithmic scale, where ADy = log(NDy/NH) + 12.00.
