In the framework of radiation-driven-wind theory an approximated line force is derived from the classical model. This line force has the property of being conservative (dependent on the radial distance only) and this fact simplifies the integration of the equation of motion, which assumes the form of a Parker equation. The agreement between the results (wind velocity fields and mass loss rates) of the simplified and the classical models is very good and represents an 'a posteriori' justification of the proposed approximation.
