We have constructed the luminosity function for Sco OB 1 and NGC 6231. A slope of dlog(n (Mv))/dMv = 0.32 over the absolute magnitude range from -7.00 mag to -4.00 mag was found for the two aggregates. An exact comparison with the initial and general luminosity functions derived by Sandage (1957) cannot be made because his functions are not defined for stars brighter than M(v) = -6.00 mag. The paper concludes with a brief discussion of the question of completeness in terms of the area of the sky and the magnitude limit.
