It has been known for some time that galaxy morphology is environment-dependent. An emerging area of research has found correlations between galaxy cluster properties and the supercluster environment (surrounding clusters). In addition to the well-known optical and (less well-known) X-ray cluster alignment with superclusters, the internal structure of clusters "knows" about neighbors out to tens of Mpc. Properties affected include the degree of central concentration of both the galaxy and gas distribution within the cluster, the existence of cooling flows, the orientation of winds blowing Wide Angle Tail radio sources, as well as possibly central jets themselves.
