Two ring galaxy systems observed are described and speculation is advanced on the origins of the phenomenon. Photographs of the Cartwheel and of the II HZ 4 binary galaxy system are shown. A compact galaxy traversing the disk of a spiral galaxy, and the rebound of material driven by the impending collision toward the nucleus of the target galaxy and then reexpanding, are invoked as possible causes. Features of Cartwheel spectroscopy are cited. The ring galaxies are recommended as objects of study for supernova observations and anomalous galactic structures such as bridges, or tails.
