A brief summary is presented of present-day knowledge of the main structures of the lunar surface - highlands, maria, basins, impact craters, and volcanic structures - as well as data on their internal structure and the regolith covering them. Morphological features are described which make it possible to establish their genesis and age and to construct a stratigraphic scale from the moment of lunar crust consolidation to the present.
