The Space Infrared Facility (SIRTF) Guaranteed Time Observers will be executing deep surveys of the high galactic latitude sky over the 3.6 to 160 micron range. The goals of the survey include elucidating the star formation rate as revealed by far-infrared emission, estimating the fraction of far-infrared light from AGNs, resolving the far-infrared background into galaxies, and looking for possible new classes of galaxies such as those with very high ratios of infrared to optical luminosity. The survey strategy and fields will be presented as well as simulations of what the Mulitband Imaging Photometer for SIRTF is likely to detect. This work is supported by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
