The origin of the radioactive Al-26 line source is considered by analyzing observational spectrometer and Compton data by means of the maximum entropy method to evaluate the angular extent of the radioactive source. The observations of the gamma-ray line are taken from three ballon-borne spectrometers and a Compton telescope. The 'smoothest' distribution of the data is determined with the maximum entropy technique, and comparisons are made to fits of other Galactic longitude distributions. The analysis reinforces the results of nova and thin-hot plasma models since the Al-26 line is confirmed to have a diffuse interstellar origin and enhanced emission at the Galactic center.
