Several practical implementations of the calculation of Liapunov characteristic exponents with the use of Gram-Schmidt Orthogonalization are described. The value of these algorithms in their applications to mappings and systems of ODEs is compared. The Anosov Map and the Lorentz system for these comparisons are described. The detailed flow charts as well as some of the FORTRAN Subroutines that were developed are given. Information about the rate of convergence of the algorithms is also provided.
