Solar frequencies show a distinct change with solar activity. The changes in frequencies can be used to study the time variation of solar structure. In this talk I shall discuss what we learn about the changes in the Sun from the changes in frequency. The frequency variations appear to be dominated by surface effects rather than by changes in the deeper layers.
