An extraordinary change in the optical region photometric variations of the CP2 star HR 7224 is found between observations made during 2003 and those made before 1996. The amplitude of variability has increased from of order 0.04 mag to 0.21 mag. The main period of variability now appears to be of the order of 101 d rather than 1.123 d as previously found.
