We will obtain medium resolution long slit and echelle spectra of the jet and inner disk associated with the variable near-ZAMS Herbig Ae star HD 163296. These observations will shed light on the production and collimation mechanisms for protostellar jets, the relationship between protostellar mass loss and accretion, and the composition and structure present in the inner region of a circumstellar disk that may be actively forming planets. We are requesting that these observations be coordinated with currently scheduled ground based observations in order to obtain complete coverage of the rapidly varying emission from HD 163296 and its surrounding disk over the range 1150-10000AA.
