We report estimates for the absolute masses of the component stars in the pre-main-sequence spectroscopic binary UZ Tau E. This result comes from the combination of our measurements of the mass ratio, M2/M1=0.30+/-0.02, obtained with high resolution H-band spectroscopy using NIRSPEC at the 10m Keck II telescope, following procedures described in Mazeh et al. (2002, ApJ, 564, 1007) and Prato et al. (2002, ApJ, 569, in press), with the total mass of the system, (1.31+/-0.08)(D/140pc) Msun, measured by mapping the Keplerian rotation of its circumbinary disk (Simon et al. 2000, ApJ, 545, 1034). The mass of the primary and secondary are (1.00+/-0.06)(D/140pc) Msun and (0.30+/-0.03)(D/140pc) Msun, respectively. Using the parameters measured for the system as a single-lined spectroscopic binary (Mathieu et al. 1996, BAAS, 188, 6005), we find that the inclination of the binary orbit is 54+/-5 deg, with only a weak dependence on the distance. This value is consistent with that determined for the circumbinary disk, indicating that the disk and binary orbits are coplanar.
