The Solar Blind Channel (SBC) of the Advanced Camera for Surveys (ACS) provides photon-counting UV imaging capability over the wavelength range of 1150 to 1800 Å. We summarize the physical properties of the detector and describe its performance in terms of the flatfield structure, image quality, total throughput, dark count rate, and geometric distortion. The performance was measured from data taken in on-orbit as well as prelaunch observations. This work was supported by a NASA contract and a NASA grant.
