The new transient X-ray source KS 1947 + 300 in Cygni, discovered in
June 1989 by the Kvant Observatory, was identified with the blue,
possibly variable, star 14.17 - 14.27 m V. In terms of its color
characteristics, it is similar to the dwarf K3, and is probably a
background star. A map of the source's neighborhood is presented.
