Results are presented of an analytical study performed to examine the unsteady forced and free-convection flow of a viscous incompressible fluid when there is a constant heat flux between fluid and plate. The expressions for the velocity field, the penetration distance, and the skin-friction are obtained by the Laplace transform technique. The influence of the various parameters involved in the problem is discussed with the aid of tables.
