Novae: Stellar Evolution
Scientific paper
A general review of the transitions in non-magnetic novae, and their evolutionary connections with other subclasses of cataclysmic variables (CVs) is discussed. New evolutionary scenarios are suggested for short orbital period CVs. The presence of a new type of nova, a helium nova, is also speculated based on the suggestion to extend the scenarios to the AM CVn systems.
