We present mid-infrared imaging observations of ultra compact (UC) HII regions observed with T-ReCS on the Gemini South 8m telescope. The source list consists of all 45 sources in the 6 and 2 cm radio continuum survey of Hofner and Churchwell (1989). With T-ReCS we achieve in the mid-infrared a comparable spatial resolution ( 0.4") to the radio images from that survey. Combined with the absolute astrometric accuracies of <0.2" of the mid-infrared images, we can directly compare source structures and coincidences between the two spectral regimes. Since the radio continuum traces ionized gas and the mid-infrared mainly traces dust emission, the gas and dust distribution in these massive star-forming regions are explored.
