X-Ray Flashes (XRFs) are softer-spectrum counterparts of GRBs, emitting most of their energy in hard X-rays instead of gamma-rays. We present results from the first concerted study of Swift XRFs, a survey of eight northern-hemisphere events with the Keck telescope plus additional events from the literature. The properties of the sample appear consistent with those of the GRB population in general, with some indication of a larger abundance of observed low-redshift events. One event (XRF 060428B) may originate in an elliptical galaxy or possibly be gravitationally lensed.
