Closure phase methods are reviewed, focusing on their application to problems in astronomical imaging. Closure phase in radio interferometry, self-calibration algorithms, and phase-corrections schemes for optical imaging are discussed. Also focal-plane self calibration, the study of radio wave scattering, and tests for the coherence of scattered radiation are examined.
