The structure and diagnostic properties of the spectrum of the free oscillations of the models of Jupiter are discussed. The spectrum is highly sensitive to the properties of the inner core and density discontinuities in the planet's interiors. It is shown that, in the seismology of Jupiter, as opposed to solar seismology, it is not possible to use asymptotic theory to study the high-frequency part of the acoustic spectrum.
