Astrometric results for the high-velocity metal-poor G8 subdwarf HR 4550 show a parallax of 0.122 + or -0.004 arcsec. The radial velocity of -98.2 + or -0.2 km/s appears to be constant. The difficulty in obtaining an accurate determination of the secular acceleration of the proper motion is discussed. No evidence for orbital effects of the unconfirmed visual companion of HR 4550 is found in the observations.
