Thermal decomposition of Roxbury siderite resulted in the formation of
impure (Mg,Mn)-ferrites. These findings, which are supported by kinetic
and thermodynamic equilibrium modeling studies, are in stark contrast to
the chemically pure ALH 84001 magnetite.
