Scientific paper

An explicit time dependence is obtained for the analogs of the
eccentricity and semimajor axis of the intermediate orbit of a satellite
whose motion is affected by atmospheric drag. An analytical relationship
is derived which makes it possible to estimate the satellite lifetime.
