The use of data from the Hubble Space Telescope (HST), and the number of refereed publications produced from this data, are now dominated by HST archival research. The Hubble Legacy Archive (HLA) has been constructed as a means of providing a heightened level of HST archival data to the astronomical community. We provide a general examination of the current strategy and the steps being taken to produce source lists for HST's Advanced Camera for Surveys (ACS) and Wide-Field Planetary Camera 2s’ (WFPC2) imaging data included for Data Release 2 (DR2), and to be included for Data Release 3 (DR3) of the HLA, respectively. The HLA currently provides, and will continue to provide in the future, both Source Extractor- and IRAF DAOPHOT-based source lists to facilitate the needs of the community in the identification of extended and point sources, respectively. These source lists are created from drizzled, combined, and astrometrically corrected ACS and WFPC2 images. DR1 and DR2 in February and September of 2008, respectively, provided a more complete and refined set of ACS imaging data for the public. DR3 is currently planned for February 2009, and will include a more extensive and refined set of ACS source lists, in addition to the HLA's first run of WFPC2 source lists. An increased level of precision in source detection and refinement will provide the next generation of ACS and WFPC2 data for use by the community. Additional future plans include the development of an "All-HST-Sky" source list that will include observations for the various HST instruments.
