Radio interferometric techniques were used to study interplanetary scintillation by directly measuring the coherence of radiation after scattering by the solar wind. The results have confirmed the existence of fine-scale structure similar to speckles. The theory of Cornwell and Napier (1988) has been extended in order to consider the case of coherent measurements at the focal plane of a single-reflector radio telescope. A test for coherence of the scattered radiation is presented.
