Accurately timed short exposures of bright photoelectric standard stars with a CCD camera show that a photometric accuracy approaching 0.1 per cent is possible. The results obtained are indistinguishable from those achieved using conventional photoelectric photometry on the same stars. Observations of two faint photoelectric sequences are presented and the factors limiting the accuracy of the CCD photometry are discussed.
