Scientific paper
The near infrared (J, H, K and where possible L) photometry of two H II
regions in external galaxies and of eight blue galaxies is presented.
The ultraviolet, visible and near-infrared colours are used to
demonstrate that some of the blue compact galaxies may be genuinely
young objects.
