We propose to use the IUE satellite to observe six BL Lacertae objects as part of a comprehensive program of complete, quasisimultaneous spectral coverage from radio through X-ray frequencies. All of our targets are known X-ray sources. The spectra obtained, as well as any observed variability in the emission, are probes of the physical processes occurring in these sources, and will help determine the nature of BL Lac objects and how they relate to other active galactic nuclei.
