The LB 3459 is an eclipsing binary, consisting of a near degenerate secondary (of solar composition) and a subdwarf OB primary. Low resolution IUE spectra were obtained before and during primary eclipse. Secondary radius = (0.53 + or - 0.03) primary radius; primary limb darkening is predicted by the non-LTE model atmosphere. Metal abundances derived from high resolution SWP spectra might be explained by diffusion, which is also proposed as an explanation for helium depletion.
