Numerous studies have presented evidence that the intergalactic medium in galaxy groups is hotter than would be expected from heating by pure gravitational infall. It is now widely accepted that AGN feedback may play a role in generating the observed temperature and entropy excess. Using a set of existing observations and drawing on several different models of the efficiency of AGN feedback, we present the preliminary results of our study of the extent to which AGN feedback really can account for the observed excess heating and entropy of galaxy groups.
