Scientific paper

Collision strengths for electron impact excitation of S III from the ground 3p2 3P state to excited states 3s3p3 3D0,3P0, 3S0, 3d 3D0, 3P0, and 4s 3P0 are calculated in a close-coupling approximation for the energy range up to 106K. Also given are oscillator strengths for those transitions and for a number of others which involve 3p2 1D and 1S.
