Numerical studies of the disintegration of slightly perturbed equilibrium configurations of three and four bodies reveal that the angular momentum vectors of the final subsystems are substantially randomized for four-body (and greater) systems but are not for three-body systems. The cause of this difference and some possible applications of these findings are discussed.
