Solar Faculae, Supergranulation: Solar Active Regions, Evolution: Solar Active Regions

Scientific paper

Over 40 faculae regions (1978 - 1982) and about 30 polar regions (1984 - 1986) have been studied on the basis of high-resolution photoheliogram series taken with the Pamirs' complex. The goal of the study was to investigate the sizes and contracts of single bright elements (≡1″ and peculiarities of their merging into large-scale structures. A conclusion is made that the maximum distribution of supergranular cells is shifted to the region of smaller scale in active regions, which are at the end of the cell scale in active regions, which are at the end of the cell scale distribution for a quiet photosphere. There is a relationship between the scale of cell division and the sizes of spots emerging within these cells. The majority of bright elements of the facular field and polar zones are distributed at the boundaries of supergranulation cells.
