The available evidence pertaining to color 'anomalies' in Hyades dwarfs are examined in detail in order to understand how the determine the temperatures of solar-type stars. The evidence indicates that the temperatures of these stars are not seriously skewed by their spots. Simpler explanations which can produce the observed effects are discussed.
