The present evaluation of the current understanding of the cosmic distance problem presents internally-consistent distances to the Local Group galaxies, and notes their distance scale to be 11 + or - 5 percent smaller than previously noted by Sandage and Tammann (1981, 1982). By using distances to nearby galaxies as stepping-stones to the Virgo cluster, the cluster's distance modulus is found to be 31.5 + or - 0.2, which corresponds to a distance of 20 + or - 2 Mpc. In view of V for the elliptical galaxies at the Virgo cluster's core of 1200 + or - 46 km/sec, and therefore a Local Group V of 1082 + or - 48 km/sec, a cosmological redshift V of 1332 + or - 69 km/sec is obtained, corresponding to H(0) of 67 + or - 8 km/sec per Mpc.
