The bright star HR 107 (HD 2454) with a spectral type F5V is shown to have a composition similar to that of a mild Barium giant. This discovery, which extends detection of bariumlike abundance anomalies to the early F dwarfs, is consistent with the idea that barium stars are created when the secondary star (the present barium star) of a binary accretes mass from the primary (now, the white dwarf companion) when the latter is an asymptotic giant branch star self-enriched in carbon and the s-process elements.
