The paper proposes a model, based on Aarseth's N-body code, able to follow simultaneously a nondissipative evolution of a protogalaxy and an extensive large-scale environment. The results of experiments presented show that this model can reliably be used for that purpose. The effects of various parameters such as softening, power of the external tidal field, and initial axial ratio of the protogalaxy, are studied. It is found that, these effects can give a different final distribution of mass and angular momentum. The final distribution of angular momentum is governed by the secondary infall and is quite different from the distribution at the end of linear phase, particularly for the inner parts of a galaxy. In agreement with other recent works (Barnes and Efstathiou, 1987; Zureck et al. 1988) the results show that, no spiral pattern can appear through nondissipative processes.
