The paper describes experimental design and instrumentation used on second generation Luna probes (Luna 16 to Luna 24). A review is then presented of radar measurements carried out at 3 cm with these probes. Data are presented on effective scattering area, backscattering patterns, reflection coefficients, effective permittivity, soil density and mean-square inclinations of the surface.
