SysRem, a code for removal of systematic errors from large sets of light curves, was created (Tamuz et al. 2005) and widely used in photometric surveys for transiting exoplanets. In principle, each run of SysRem can find and remove one significant systematic effect, so that repeated runs can remove practically all the variations in all the light curves, including the sought for variations in a target object. We analyze possible modifications of SysRem that would allow for its application without affecting the variability of a determined target star. The examples of application of these algorithms to the transits of known exoplanets and to the light curves of variable stars will be demonstrated.
