A number of calculations of atmospheric emission spectra in the far-infrared have been made. The input data are the spectral line positions, strengths, and half-widths, as well as appropriate atmospheric profiles of temperature and mixing ratio. These calculations have been made for two different purposes. Firstly, spectra have been computed to simulate some of the experimental observations in order to assist with the analysis of these observations, and, secondly, others have been calculated as an aid in planning future observational work. In particular, some calculations have been made to simulate the spectra which could be measured by a far-infrared spectrometer on Spacelab
