Observed times of minima show that the period of VW Cep has been decreasing monotonically for the last 55 years. The conservative case implication is mass transfer from the more massive to the less massive component. Interpreted on the thermal relaxation oscillation (TRO) theory, the present state of the system must be semidetached. Primary and secondary minimum (B-V) color indices are equal, to within observational precision. Implying close thermal contact, the latter result is in apparent disagreement with the previous conclusion. A comparison of observations with the Anderson-Shu theory remains to be performed.
