The results of a photographic and spectroscopic study of a young supernova remnant in the Large Magellanic Cloud, N132D, are presented. The remnant consists of a number of stationary and rapidly moving knots located almost centrally in a larger disk and ring. In the disk and in certain of the knots the O/H abundance ratios are high by factors in the order of 10 to 100, which supports the suggestion that processed stellar material from the supernova explosion is being dissipated into the interstellar medium. The remnant is very similar to Cas A.
