High resolution International Ultraviolet Explorer spectra of HD 205 805 (sdB, mv = 10.2, Teff = 26500 K, g = 100.00 cm s to the minus 2d power) were obtained in the range 1170-3230 A. Some 1150 absorption lines with central depths equal to or greater than 0.2 were measured. A radial velocity of -80 km sec permitted a distinction to be made between stellar and interstellar lines. The stellar spectrum exhibits many lines of doubly ionized elements, especially of C, Si, S, Ti, Cr, Mn and Fe. Preliminary estimates of selected abundances are given by comparison with the normal B star gamma Peg.
