Extinction curves were obtained in the UV range in the direction of theta (1) Ori C in the central brightest area of the nebula and toward theta (2) Ori A which is located 2.3 arc minutes southeast from the Trapezium. The two extinction curves show significant differences amounting to about two magnitudes, the one toward theta (1) Ori C running below and the one toward theta (2) Ori A above the mean Orion curve found by others.
